well colorado aint a very far trip from kansas now is it. you pay fuel and i'll look at it.

Make sure all your grounds are good. Replace them and or clean the contact points. Might not be the answer your looking for but it could help.

fixed now, new pcm and $1800 dollars worth of new sensors

Heh. Same thing happened to me, but a new PCM fixed it. That's kinda how I stumbled onto this site...

Yeah, I was going to say sounds like a speed sensor, that makes it shift like you described. And screws up you gauges.

Funny how replacing so many electronic modules and sensors get connections cleaned/tightened up again....
