Default turbo is froze up

would the airflow restriction be enough to keep it from starting and to slow the starter

umm, when you say your turbo is froze up I'm assumeing it will not spin at all is that correct?

Your truck should start and run without a turbo. It just wont run very well.
make sure your shutdown soleinod is pulling up when your cranking and if your turbo is shot you will need a new one.

Not to sure if it will start when a turbo is froze or not. Take the turbo off and try to start it. Like stated above, make sure you shut off solinoid is working properly.

I know it will start and run without a turbo and I don't think a froze turbo is enough of a restriction to keep it from starting. Could be wrong I've never had one lock up on the truck

Thats what i said try and start it without the turbo, meaning if it starts without the turbo, then the locked up turbo was the problem, if it does not start, then he has a different problem.
