Default slipping around

My 12 v 94 cummins tranny slips when 1st cranked up in cold weather and at anytime while driving, won't shift into over-drive.
Also, the cruise control won't work all the time.

I would say that you need to rebuild the tranny and get a torque convertor, as far as the cruise control, that could be a vacumn line problem.

what cost is involved in a rebuild?. Also, would it be that the bands could just be
adjusted and the pump cleaned?.

yup, gonna say it needs a rebuild, mine was rebuilt at 165k. As far as the overdrive that could be due to a faulty TPS!
