I bought a california 97 cummins automatic and it had no ***** to pull my 23' toy hauler. wound up rebuilding it and now pulls great. the pump was set at 7 degrees i had it turned up to 16 degrees. I tightened the head bolts as well so i dont blow a head while pulling. i removed the egr pipe and replaced the intake and manifold and completely deleted the egr pipe. now i am pulling 24 boost and 1000 egt up hills at 70 mph. moved the plate all the way back and ground my plate identical to a 215 hp. kept the 180 injectors had them bumped up a bit because of the pump.

 

so it sounds like your happy with it now huh and it does the job

 

did the timing slip or was it factory set at 7*

 

it works for me smoke with straights 4" exhaust into dual 3".

 

hey Raking ... did doin the egr delete make any notice able difference ?
just wondering cuz im wanting to do it on my truck and does your MIL stay on at all times ?
