So what makes it worth more than a good pump?

He never said that the pump was junk, he thinks it might be. But I digress

Here is the most basic way of calculating the value of the Pump

1. What does a new (rebuilt pump cost)

2.What does it cost to rebuilt a pump

Take the cost from question 1, subtract the cost from question 2, and that is what the pump is worth, if not more.

If the buyer really really needs the pump then add a little.

mech2161... you jumped on my case because I gave a price between 1000 and 1200 but what you failed to remember is that I was just informing him on what some places are charging for cores.

now lets just smile and agree that I am right

Some places... The guy has four posts. I think telling him core prices is a little misleading. It's only worth that kind of money to a fool. So no I disagree.

Yes and I paid $1325 for a complete engine including wiring harness, rad, intercooler, intake, pump and turbo.

I did some research and mech2161 is right the p7100 pump is a inexpensive pump and in most cases has no value at all. I spoke to several people that have been trying to get rid of their p-pumps but couldn't so they just use them as boat anchors or counter weights on old windows.
