Default transmission noise

I have a question, when i turn my key over but dont start the truck there is a ticking noise coming from the transmission. It goes the whole time the key is turned over, does anyone know what it could be?
Thanks Andrew

Are you having any shifting issues? The Govenor pressure solenoid is in there and it might be going bad or buzzing.

It stops after truck is running?
Are you sure it's the trans...
Could it be the ticking a bad lift pump or OFV makes the fuel lines make?
They are on drivers side.
