Default Wheel Bearings

Looking for somewhere to get some high quality front wheel bearings. I've heard some horror stories about the ones you get at the autoparts stores, so I'm looking for something like Timken, SKF, or the like. I know autozone sells Timken, but the don't even have a listing for the outer bearings in any brand, just the inners. Any help would be appreciated.

if you turn right your loading the drivers side front wheel bearing not the left (passengers side) so if anything the drivers side would be making the noise; the clicking while braking can be a rough surface from a recently machined rotor. if the carbide bits are dull it can actually "thread" the surface, and casue the brake pads to screw out and pop or click back to their normal position. it doesnt move much at all but its a noticable noise from what i'm told. as for a good replacement bearing carquest supplies national bearings; they're comprable to timken and can get you the matched set.

If you have the numbers off the bearings you can actually got through motion industries or applied industrial technologies. That's where the auto parts stores get em from you can even go through dana themselves a bit pricy but you get the exact replacment

Thanks for the replies, guys. I got the National bearings from Carquest, we'll see how they work out. Now for my next question. The new rotors I got (that include the hubs being 2wd) came with the inner races already installed. Now, is it worth taking those races out to put in the races that I picked up with the bearings? Not sure how critical that fit is. FWIW, the rotors are the Raybestos Advanced Technology rotors, being touted as "ready to install" and have the "zero turn guarantee."

do not use that race... bearings from the cup to the cone are an exact match. the ones included are for machining/balancing purposes while at the manufacturer. bearing style and taper may be different from their machine that they used. in fact someone hobble cobbed my truck together, i had timken inners, some other bearing race, and a jap scrap outter bearing that the rollers were much narrower than the new replacements... i guess there are still people out there that dont like it done right the first time
