Default Silencer Ring

I was wondering if any has removed the silencer ring from the turbo? If so how do you do it and was it worth it?

most people have them out, pull off the tube from ur air box to ur turbo, there will be a snap ring inside the turbo, use 2 small screwdrivers n work it out n the silencer ring will fall out into ur hands. there's no power gain from doin it, but damn does it sound good

everybody's done it. as easy as cummins said. def sounds way better than stock, slap you a open air filter on their and enjoy your new sound when the trubo kicks in.

no. the only reason cummins put it in was to keep the truck more quiet. ive had mine out for over 30,000miles

I made myself an intake. I found a filter that'd go right in the turbo intake hole... forget the part #, but I'm sure someone has it..
