when mine quit it was a short time after that all my electronics went down and i figured out that my crank shaft position sensor was burnt up. might check there for a short b4 trying to go inside the steering column

There is a recall on the clock springs if your truck has not had it done already.

Call the dealers with your vin and they will be able to tell you what outstanding recalls need to be adressed.

Clock springs, throttle linkage and trailer hitch were three of the ones which I remember they did on mine way back when.I know there were a couple of more but the previous owner had them done.If its recall then if its not been done they have to do it per federal law.
