thats what i did, had it at tdc, marked everything really good and torqued it back down makin sure nothin moved

I guess that would work. I just prefer to meaure the lift on #1 delivery valve.

i just dont have the stuff to do it, but i really wouldn't have attempted this whole ordeal without DB and everybody on here. i musta been on here 100 times searchin different stuff and askin questions. thanks guys

with the new filter on it runs like a raped ape. glad that wont be happenin again, kdp is tabbed and all the bolts are red loctite'd in. now i just need to figure out these damn headlights haha

the way i made sure my timing was on when i did mine was i took the plug out of the side of the pump looked at the arm on the governor and made sure it was in the center of the view and then put the engine at tdc and tightened it down mine runs good not everyone has access to the tools needed to time these pumps and this way works

hell thats how you time a mack... just a little box with 2 lights, ones a warning, both lit is point of injection and when the other one is lit its just tellin ya you went too far... i figure the tool may be the same; it was a pretty nice and simple way to check the timing as for the headlights... you kinda need those hahaha
