Default mirror help?

On the 95 in my sig....

It had non-power, non-heated mirrors on it...

I got a set of power heated gave to me..

I put them on and found that the power wiring was there already so it only took a few minutes to wire them up.

There is only wiring for the power. No heated wiring...

What all is needed to hook up the heated besides a switch? Are there any relays or anything like that I need to get the heat working?

When I put them on my f350 I had power already with 3 wires and the mirror had 5 wires. One was for heater ground the other power for the heater. Try to take them 2 remaining wires and power one and ground one see if they work. If not switch them and try again. Thats how I got mine to work. Try it at night so the mirrors are cool, youll know when they heat. What color are the 2 wires you have left?

97 and back did not have a heated option, thus the reason for no wiring for heat.

The heated option started in 98 with the Black mirrors and from then up they have the wiring for both already installed.

On yours you will need to wire the mirrors heat and use a relay to trigger them or find a aftermarket wiring kit to do the job.....Andy

I realize they didn't have the option nor the wiring for the heated pre 98....

What I'm asking is do I need some type of relay to make them work right?

I know I need to get a on/off button, and wire... But do they require some type of relay?

I have 2 black wires left...

Do the mirrors them self have the auto-shut off built in? Or do I need a relay or something to get that to work?

Mine are always on when the ignition is on. Thats how Fords come factory so thats how I wired mine. With mine there were 2 black wires left. One should of had a white stripe for the hot wire but it didnt. It was all 5 wires in a row, the outside black one by the end of the plug was the hot one, and the black one next to it was ground. Try it that way, if it doesnt work switch the wires around. I see no need for a relay mine are always on.
