Default pump timing

want to re-time pump to 16.5,not a job for me.what can you expect for a price of a shop to do this job. while in there i want kdp killed as well. what is a fair price for this job?

shops around here want 3-4 or 4-7 hours depending on who it is. at $70 an hour. You can get a timing set from snap on (sp500) for $255. Thats the route I'm going.

damn i get mine doen for free at the diesel shop here and it takes him 40 minutesto do mine

well if hes a buddy i would do it for some beer. if just doin it for some money id prolly charge 200 bucks. it does take a little time to do the kdp then an hour to set the timing.

Under 200 for timing for sure. KDP... anywhere from 100.00 - 250.00

Where are you located? Maybe someone on here can help ya out.

i'am out here in the rain state(oregon) portland to be exact. would like to find a good shop to do a few of the more advanced things for me.

i would think the kdp would be a slam dunk as they need the kdp cover off to re time the pump. so a simple smack it back flush and a new longer bolt, the tab, and a little locktite. maybe i will find it a little more time involved when i do the kdp myself on my 1st generation

ok i live in oregon to and i suggest source automotive in gladstone. just of 99e where all the dealerships are. they only do performance diesel stuff and they have a good reputation. all the guys there have cummins. give them a call. or just message me and i will give you there info. they will be honest with you about it.
