95 tranny?
The 42RE, 42RH, 44RE, 46RE, 46RH, 47RE and 47RH transmissions are four speed automatic overdrive units utilizing two-section designs. They consist of a modified Chrysler three speed transmission with an overdrive unit or overdrive compounder unit, which replaces the extension housing and provides a fourth gear ratio of 0.69 to 1 .
The front section of the 42RH, 42RE and 44RE overdrive units is a modified 32RH three speed transmission, and the front section of the 46RE and 46RH overdrive units is a modified 36RH three speed transmission.
The 47RE and 47RH overdrive units are modified 37RH units, and are unique in that they contain heavy duty planetary gear carriers, rear band and lever and governor weight assembly.
Transmissions with an "RE" designation, although essentially the same as those designated "RH", are differentiated by their use of electronic components. The "RE" transmissions also contain a unique valve body transfer plate to accommodate the electronic controls. The components in the front portions of these units are basically the same as those in Chrysler Loadflite three speed transmissions. However, different components are needed to attach the overdrive unit. The base three speed transmission is equipped with an intermediate shaft instead of an output shaft so that it may serve as the overdrive unit input shaft as well as the base unit output shaft. In addition, the standard Loadflite valve body is modified to fulfill the additional needs of the four speed overdrive unit.
Fourth gear (overdrive) is electronically controlled and hydraulically activated. A variety of sensor inputs are supplied to the PCM, which operates valve body solenoids. The overdrive control switch is located in the instrument panel. In the On position, automatic shifts into fourth gear overdrive will occur. In the Off position, the switch overrides the electronic control module, preventing a shift into fourth gear.

ok could a 47rh work in my 97? i found a good one and my od is shot and i was wondering if that would work till i was able to build mine the way i want it you know cash is tight right now for alot of us

This statement tell's me no, but I know its been done. In the same respect, guys switching from re to rh and vice-versa are using the valve bodys that companys like Suncoast offer. I'm not sure what would be entailed in the switch but it IS not a plug and play type of deal!
