I recently bought a used hx 35 turbo with some play in the shaft side to side so i decided to rebuild it. I replaced all the parts in the kit bearings snap rings and rings... put it back together and it's still got play!!!! what the heck could be wrong.

 

there should be some black side to side and top to bottom but not front to back. you have to have some amount of play for the oil to pass the bearings

how much play shouldnt have over .003 another thiing grabbing one side will not give you the right play because you have 2 journal bearing and just grabbing one side of the shaft will **** the shaft in the bearings and throw the number off

 

as long as the blades do not touch the housing you should be ok as long as there is no front to back play
