Default 47RE shift troubleshooting

i've looked all over DB trying to find something related to this, slightly similar but nothing solid:
i have an early 98' 12 valve with the 47RE in it. its been less than 4 months with the new transmission and it's hunting for gears again. previously it was doing it b/c the overdrive clutch pack was installed backwards and shot... but now it is doing it on the 2-3 and 3-4 shift. the transmission functioned properly until recently.(other than the truck never starts out in 1st... always 2nd), you can lock it out in first manually and feel the truck downshift any ideas?

sounds like it might be the throttle positioning sensor, i didnt buy a new one but instead i put in a potentiometer and now i can adjust the shift points

well the bushings are shot on the throttle shaft, so i'll replace those, and soon as the line that ruptured is replaced i'll see if the bushings fixed the problem b/c the tps is basically new. you wouldnt happen to have a write up on the potentiometer install? and where would be the best place to get one?

thanks, i'd appreciate it... just got the lines to replace the ruptured hose. 160 sum bucks for both of them. kinda funny for the 98 the line that ruptured has the same part number as the line that runs from the transfer tank to the radiator. we just looked it up for a 97, the dodge part number for the tube that runs from the back of the tank to the front of the tranmission is #52028675... just in-case anyone is having the same problem, i've heard there's an issue with the lines rubbing against eachother, and then through.

bands are fine, the transmission has less than 10k miles on it since the rebuild more around 8500. and fluid level is sitting at empty right now (ruptured line) i'm going with an erratic or false tps reading, it seems to be the concensus and pretty easy fix, cheap too if i go with a POT. but just for ***** and giggles; how are those tps's adjusted? i've read ya turn them afew times on the older ones. might just be it's out of adjustment (if there is an adjustment)
