make sure your plate is all the way forward and your housing, turn your star wheel as many times as you can towards the block, if u still wont more smoke take the small rectangle plate off the back of your pump and loosen lock nut on bottom screw. 10mm nut. Its not as tight as what you think so be easy or youll do like i did the first time and accidently turn the fuel down. so i started fine adjusting at less than stock setting. that sucked. turn the bottom screw a little at a time. like 3/4 a turn is what most people say is the max. its not going to smoke like a pulling truck with stock timing and injectors

Yah... The more smoke the higher your EGTs are. Smoke is just unburnt fuel and if your filling your cylinders with fuel your not allowing air to get in and mix. The less air your getting the higher your EGTs will be...

Okay, lets put it this way... Whats more expensive a $150 gauge or a fried piston which will definetly cost you a couple grand. Theirs a reason we're telling you to get at least a pyrometer. The members here have to gone down your route and have had to pay the big bill when they could have invested just a little money in the beginning... We are all speaking to you from expierence and trying to save people from doing the same stupid things we did...
