Default no start when hot maybe ???

94 stock auto 4x4 does not want to start when hot , sometimes .most of the time it will . but if your 50 miles from home and have to be back asap your sol . sit for an hour or so and boom . it will take right off first flip????? i have switched relays ,flipped start solenoid ,swore ,only thing i have found that works is let it cool . its getting warmer outside not wanting to drive it . take your best guess i am out of ideas

next time it dose it leave the Key on after you try to crank it,( that is if it will crank) open the hood and see if you fuel shut off is in the up position. if not push it up by hand and try again, if it works then your Shutoff may be bad. Magnetic coils sometimes only act up when they are hot.

Same exact thing happened to me. Turned out to be the starter. I ordered the Larry B starter contacts and rebuilt my starter, no more problems. As a temp fix, mine would start if I climbed under and tapped the starter with something like a (insert tool of your choice to act as a hammer).
