you know more about the trans than i but do you think it would be lasting this long in that condition and not getting any worse. It hauled a lot and pulled anhydrous tanks, toolbars, etc. alot of heavy crap its whole life. if it was going out it would get worse and just go wouldnt it? that idea just comes from the many i burnt out in my chevy and ford gas burners the fizzled out quick once the started to go.

By saying it's time for a tranny, I'm saying mileage wise that tranny is in need of a rebuild. If you change the fluid now, and it hasnt been changed on regular scheduals you can figure on a rebuild within the month! Theres 1,000's of things that can fail in a tranny. Some items cause drastic failures , some cause slipping and driving issues!

mine will die without the a/c on if it has a load on it and i'm on the pedal and let off real fast,it's cause of all the fuel going to it.it don't do it every time, but sometimes.and something else, mine idles around 700 rpm's in park.when you let off the brakes it will pull it's self on level ground,i don't see how some of yours idle around 1000 rpm's.i wouldn't be able to stop it.

You Have a built tranny? i have drove an ATS and suncoast that both would do the same thing.
and depending on what all is done to your truck could cause the dieing thing. i know mine was alot worst with stock 215 injectors pooring way to much fuel to them
