Default ac is killing me

does anybody have an idea about my ac killing my truck it idles and drives fine without it on,But with it on it dies when i come to a full stop and doesent want to idle. Auto tranny has a couple of problems too, late shifts, and have to rev engine to get to go into reverse. My first thought was a vacum problem but all the lines seem to be fine, just found out fluid and filter havent been changed EVER! bought the stuff going to do it today. could these problems be linked? Help please!

I was told by a guy who rebuilds trannys that there is two screens that could be plugged one in the sensor housing and one in the valve body that could be making it act like that also does that sound right?

is there any fixing the compressor or do i just need to replace?

Compressor is most likely fine. You would know if it was shot! I belive he's probably talking about the screens on the Gov.

I'd have to have the truck here to give you a for sure answer!
