Last weekend I installed a Goerend triple disc TC into a brand new stock 47re. I upgraded the front band apply lever, strap, and wedge. I installed a Transgo shift kit in the new valve body. I also installed a billet input shaft. I got the stock trans. on ebay, did all the work myself, and after one week I can't believe how good it drives and shifts. My old tranny was working fine with 180k and no engine mods but there is no comparison with my new setup. I saved so much money I also got a 4" exhaust, DDP stage 3 injectors, a #10 plate, governor spring kit, and BHAF. ALL for a little over $4k, trans. and torque converter INCLUDED.

I think the TC was around $1095 plus shipping. The shipping includes return shipping of your core. For a few hundred dollars more you can get the same TC with a lifetime warranty. If you break an input shaft you get a new TC. I did not get the lifetime warranty but instead applied the money toward a billet input shaft which should make it much less likely that I would need the lifetime warranty. I had to save as much money as possible on this project.
