i am a new guy in here and i know your pain ive lost 5th gear 3 times so iam seekin to do a trans swap

why would you want to do a trans swap? the nothing will beat a nv4500 for the price? weld the damn gear and be done with it. i welded mine 2 years ago and with 1000 ft-lb torque with 20k lbs

i have welded it and put the upgraded nut on as well i was thinking of a nv5600 swap for a little more hwy speed

The final ratio is the same on the 6spd and the 5 spd. They just split the 3-4 sift for less rpm drop which is better for towing.

you wont really gain any highway speed with a 5600. the 4500 accuatly has a tiny bit more of an overdrive. the 5600 has closer ratios thats all. well and a bigger input

with the gears im running i hit 115 before and still hadle pettal left 70 at 2k rpm is fast enough for me

well i have 410s and im at 2k running about 60mph and 85mph is wound tight

i have the same thing u have. i do love how fast i can get shifted when pullin and dont need to down shift as much on the grades here in nc. i have a 3500 4wd dull. i would like a little more power. but pullin here in the mountains on the long grades it likes to heat up some so i back of to cool down thinking of installing water meth. i would like to thank yall for the info yall gave me. NOTHING BEATS A CUMMINS IN MY BOOKS.
