if i wanted to change my 2500 to a 1 ton would all have to do is change the springs

nope and your axle, you would need the dana 80 axle as well as the springs. do you want a 1ton single or a 1 ton duel. single can be made with dueally leaf springs but single axle and breaks, thats what i did to mine. mine came with the dana 80 because its a 5 speed but i added dually springs and airbags.

well i wanted a 1 ton to begin with but got a good deal on the 2500 so i thought about doing a dually conversion cuz my bed has so body damage so i need to replace that and i found a bed for 150 bucks from a guy down the street from me

Get a dana 80 and bolt on a set of factory overloads and your there.

I changed my 94 3500 dually over to a single wheel. I changed rear ends,springs & beds, then removed the front hub adapters.
I could of used my springs, but the hanger/bushing where shot-easier to swap over to a different set.
I still have the 3.54 Dana 80 DW rear end,dually box & hub extensions for sale in Iowa
