over size gaskets arent as strong as stock thickness maybe that has something to do with it?

Not to be a jerk but just because you spent alot of money on machine work doenst always mean it was done right. someone could have had an off day, and messed something up, did you check it b4you put it on....maybe the guy @ the machine shop has bad eyes...or the gasket could just be defected....I dunno, i have only built one engine and i have never really had that issue. the only time i had an issue with head gaskets is when i was younger i put a 04 hemi top end togeather and put the gaskets on the wrong bank.....got it all togeather filled it up and it leaked...not fun I hope you get it back togeather..

yea metal does expand and contract, but different metals expand and contract different amounts and at different temps, it could have been the thicker gasket too i would slap a stock gasket on it torque the studs in sequence warm it up torque it again and for the next couple weeks double check the torque and do so untill the studs no longer change in torque could be 2 weeks or 2 months it took 6 times before my brothers 24v with and oringed head and studs to stop changing then we have checked it every oil change since then

also have the head checked for flatness again. normally everytime you pop a gasket it will need resurface

i checked it and it is flat, you have to use a thicker gasket when you machine a head so the valves dont come in contact with the piston, thats why they make oversized gaskets

I've always been told you only need a thicker gasket if you have the deck of the block surfaced. Dunno how true it is...

Well that is true but only if enough material was taken off. Do you know how much they actually machined of your head?

they took off .010 off the block and .010. off the head so a total of .020 which you need a thiker gasket for
