There are 3 trucks in my area with manuals and dlds. A 96, a 97 (mine), and a 98.5 12v.
I wouldn't rule out the dld just because it's a manual.

 

Wonder if the DHD comes with the Plow prep group... Every truck I've owned or worked on was a northern truck that had the Prep Group. Never seen a DLD on 5-Spd truck.

 

More than likely it could be part of the plow package

My 5spd is also a DLD!

 

dont know why they used it with a dana 80 rear makes no sence to me but now i currently have a dhd in my 5 speed, time consuming swaping but it does work, the one i got came out of a 95 auto just had to swap input shafts
