Cylinder wear???
I Understand that when your truck is "rolling coal" it is because you are not burning all the fuel. When i am putting my truck under load, it black smokes and then clears up pretty quick. So my question i think is a simple one, How bad is it for these motors to be black smoking or running ritch? is it enough fuel to wash out my cylinders? can i do this and not worry because it is fun to spool up and shoot people with soot, but i don't want to damage my motor.....i run good oil and change it frequently so i think i am fine but wanted everyones opinion.

yer not hurtin it...........when the boost pressure hits the combustion chamber is when the air to fuel ratio is correct to allow for a clean burn.
black soot out the stack is definatly unburnt fuel and yes the soot does collect in the oil as suspended particals but they are smaller than 2 micron so they just squeeze thru everywhere and eventually end up being drained out in the oil with yer regular changes, as long as yer oil is up to operating temps the oil flashes of and raw fuel that is in the oil so a washed cylender doesnt apply here, the only time a washed cylender is possible is during long idle periods where the oil is at lower pressure and wont flash off as well
