Power and fuel mileage loss 1996 12v
Well fellas I need some help. I have noticed a power loss on my 96 dodge 12v. Im not really sure whats going on with it.. I have had the truck for about a year and a half and can tell its not as strong as it was when I fist bought it. Its got 135,000 miles on it. I pull a 26' gooseneck steel horse trailer. With just the truck alone my mileage went from 17 to 15 since ive had the truck and noticeable power loss. Any suggestions on what is going on.. All help is appreciated...

Also might wanna check fuel pressure. I've been having the same troubles myself as far as loosing power and fuel mileage, i need to change my FF. Also I've heard during winter time all vehicles loose fuel mileage because of extra oxygen in the fuel. I've always been taught, Winter for horsepower and summer for fuel mileage! Hope this helps!

an all around tune up, Looks for leaks, tranny, and makes sure the pressure is right in everything. Epecially fuel pressure. Like i said on the phone man, i think your looking at a tranny problem because mine is going down hill the same way. Let me see what my mechanic says about my problems and ill let you know whats going on wednesday!! Give me a number to reach you afterwards and i betcha were having the same problem!
