if you drive like an idiot with the trailer then yes it will ... with my 94 I have no plate and a tuned afc and a stock clutch that slips whenever I really get into it. I have towed 8-9k with the truck set up like this and the clutch doesnt slip unless I REALLY get into it. I do agree I clutch upgrade would be great but for the time being slide the plate back and you should be fine.

Just slide it back a little and be easy on it down low in the rpm range.

naw just shoot for the biggest. i am going way over kill on mine, 3850 southbend dual disc. granite i have babied the truck for over a year now cuz my clutch would not hold. but no joke dont buy a single disc, you will just be regretting it later when you really crank your truck up

a big single will hold unless your doing boosted launches or hookin to a sled. plus they are more user friendly, double disks are a pain for a daily driver.

For most guys a DD is overkill... You can get an FE to hold 550HP. For a 12V thats gonna take a turbo and a set of injectors on top of the plate and tuned AFC.

not to mention that hey are kinda pricey not only do you have to fork over around 1400 maybe more but for us simple folk with 4500s we have to also get a 600-700 dollar input shaft. i dont know about you guys but i wanted a straight stick to save a little moolaah

i have a big single from KY clutch and it will not hold it is rated around 400hp but i am over that. i do sled pull some and that is why i am going over kill so i wont have to buy another clutch when i decided to go bigger

Well the guys you know with diesels aren't treating them like they're supposed to are they?

And personally, I wouldn't trust KY Clutch... I have a hard enough time trusting Valair. If I'm gonna buy a clutch its gonna be a South Bend, and I would recommend that to anyone looking for one. A 550HP Con FE will hold 550HP as long as you aren't doing whatever it is you and you friends seem to be doing Beets.

And if you are doing boosted launches with a Stick, you're glazing the clutch every time you let it slip like that.
