Why do you want to make it higher?

after springs are added for the governor it automatically casuses the rpm to idle to low and kill the truck so you have th re adjust it higher to the specs i posted

Having it too low isnt a good idea either - the truck stalls out when you put it into gear. Idle should be set at around 800 rpm on the tach (and thats in gear)

Im not sure if he wants to adjust the base idle or if he wants to put in a high idle switch/cable.

I have a high idle cable **** in my truck and I love it!!! Its cold up here in the winter and being able to idle up is great.

1) your truck warms up a bit faster(and stays warm)in the winter
2) its helps to circulate the oil better, and if you have a slopy oil pump(low oil pressure) it helps to keep things lubed better
3)in the summer if you like to leave the the A/C on to keep your truck cool while you get groceries , a higher Idle will make the fan pull more air through the rad and condenser core
4) if you need a little more power out of your alternator for boosting, power inverters, winches etc.
5) if you are running a hydrolic pump for bale handlers, hydrolic winches, snow plows, or other hydrolic accesories, and you want them to work faster.
