do you have any boost? could be losing boost my truck blew a boot and blew a bunch of gray smoke

My EGT's got to 1200 for a breif time. But I don't have a boost guage hooked up yet

The truck idles like crap. would a bad boot cause a bad idle when the motor dosen't make boost.

no a busted boot won't make it idle like crap. have you checked to make sure that the fuel shut off solenoid is completely in the up position when the motor is running?

I did zip tie the shut down up all the way and it didn't make a difference.

I was told that I may have slipped the gear on the p-pump shaft.

Would that cause this problem

Sounds to me like your getting air in the system somehow.

i think if ya slipped timing it would make it run like crap...but im not 100%
