just a few auto meter gauge questions
1) Where is the best place to install the boost line in a factory setup and what should i see for max boost (stock turbo)?
I've seen some comments about plugging the wastegate or doing a few things to get more boost but haven't looked into it much
2) I just got my hands on an AutoMeter Ultra-Lite Series 100-250F Water Temp Gauge (PN: AM-4337). is this a probe style setup or is there a fitting in the cooling system i can remove to install the sensor? where is the best place to install it for accurate readings?
3) Are these AutoMeter Ultra-Lite Series gauges weather proof? i have seen some ppl mount theirs on the Valance(sp?) just outside the windshield but i'm wondering if these are okay to do so
thanx guys!

Go back to the 24V section Batman. A boost bolt isnt for a 12V.
There is a 1/8" npt pipe plug on the drivers side of the engine, just below the triangular intake. Remove that plug and install a 1/8" npt fitting.
Alternately, you could drill and tap the intake (but Im not sure why anyone would do that).
The boost tends to vary between trucks (plus some guys lie). You should be seeing around 26-30 psi (I cant remember what the wastegate is set at).
Usually the guys that have the guage on the valance are 3 rd gen guys, and its usually the rail pressure guage - nobody wants that kind of pressure in the cab with them. Although there are a few wingnuts (Uncle Bubba) that have their fp guage mounted outside the cab. Personally, I like my guages in the cab - they are safe from weathering and fogging due to moisture/condensation.
There should be a place to plumb in the water temp sensor.
