No the fitting I was talking about was for the boost guage.

Will have to figure out a spot for the temp sensor, as I have never really thought about it. The OE temp sensor is on the drivers side near the back of the block:

what i did for mine, is by the radiator just left from center, there is a bypass, just a little hose that goes from the rad. to the top of the block. i took the hose off the block side and pluged it. i took the old fitting out and connected two that came with the gauge i bought. down side it sucks to do, and there isnt enough wire to put it on top of the dash, so i put mine on the bottom kick pannel. hope this made since

im not sure i want to plug any coolant hoses. i am pretty sure i know where you are describing, but mine is not like that. i dont have a small hose coming from the rad. mine has a small line about 3-4" long that goes from one side of the stat to the other. i still think there has got to be a plug somwhere in the block that you can tap into to get better temps from....

here is a pic of the small hose you are referring to, if its the same its in this pic right above the hose clamp on the upper rad hose.

what would be wrong with making a "T" off the coolant hose on the hot side of the line going to the heater core? it is also shown in the pic above.
