hi, Im new here, thinking about buying a 96 2500 clubcab 4x4 pickup, it has 450,000 miles on it...the engine hasnt been touched except the KDP has been taken care of...it is a 5 spd manual trans ...trans and t case were rebuilt at 402,000 miles...5th gear nut was done right on the rebuild....i had my son check out the truck since he has a 97 and a 91 cummins, and has had a couple other ones..he checked the blow by and there wasnt any....i know these engines can go a long time before needing a rebuild...just want to hear some opinions on whether or not i should get this truck or not....i can get it for $7000....heater and AC both work, heater core replaced 2 years ago, drives great down the road, has lots of power....needs driver seat re done, dash is broken, carpet needs replaced ....body is in good shape, 1 small dent in bed side.....speedometer/odometer doesnt work has decent tires, wont have to replace them anytime soon ...current registration paid for the next year....I would appreciate your opinions...
