What Does The Shutdown Solenoid Shut Off ?

The VE pumps on the early gens have a plunger assembly that plugs off the fuel to the internal pump.
The P pumps, the solenoid pushes the lever for the rack. This rack is run by the governor but this lever pushes it fully rearward to close of the ports on the plunger barrels.
VP44, I am not sure, but I assume its electronic closure of the fuel swash plate? Not sure.
