So I have a 94 ram 2500 that I need going again. It ran great when I first got it then it started losing power at full throttle. It would be fine till you gave it full throttle or 3/4 throttle and it would lose all power with the pedal all the way down and then pick back up for a couple seconds then do it all over again. I changed the fuel filter and cleaned the preheater screen and bowl. Now it still does it and the other day I lost almost all power so I pulled over a min and let it run then took back off. Bout a mile down the road it studdered and when I let off it died. It did this several times till I made it home. If I give it just enough throttle to get down the road it won't die but if I go over half throttle it will cut up lose all power and die soon as I let off. What could this be its my only vehicle so I need it back rite. I don't have a fuel pressure gauge and not able to get one at the moment. Could it be a weak lift pump? Maybe bad overflow valve. Or bad injectors? If the injection pump was bad I'd think it wouldn't run at all right? Thanks for any help in advance guys!!!

 

How many miles do you have on it? It could very well be a weak lift pump or an air leak. I would start by getting a fuel pressure gauge or going to a shop and getting it tested. A weak lift pump will eventually take out your injection pump. If you are still rocking a stock ofv it could be a weak spring. I would recommend replacing the stock ofv with a Tork Tek one found here: DETAILS OF EACH TORK TEK OVERFLOW VALVE - Tork Teknology (if you can afford it).
