straight gear to auto swap..
as the title says, im wanting to know how hard it would be to swap from the nv4500, to a 47rh. it's a 94 truck, came factory as a handshaker, and was thinking about swapping to an auto, because it doesn't like being slammed to gears. (racing
)
went to the track last night, (1/8 mile), rolled through second, got into 3rd very easy, then let 3rd and 4th eat. ran a 11.8 (
) but trapped 82 mph.. so with an auto im thinking im easily low 8's.
what all would be needed to swap the trans? i think you can use the same computers, i can put lock-up and overdrive on switchs, id rather have overdrive to where i can just put it in drive though..
i would love to build a box of sorts, then put a ratchet shifter where the current shift is.
ive been told it's simple, it's hard, etc.
i just wonder about the tps and such. i know i'll have to ground the neutral safety switch and such, on biggie.
it's a 2wd truck so it wont be that hard, as far as driveshafts and transfercase etc.
