Power loss
Is it me or should my truck have more power? From a dead stop if I mash the pedal to the floor my truck just sits there like I'm tied to a tree. After about 2 seconds it will go but not very fast. My top speed is every bit of 75-80 and it takes me awhile to get there. Truck is completely stock I just had the trans rebuilt with no upgrades. It's like I have a 4 cylinder gas motor in my truck. What is my problem? I'm not expecting a 6 second truck by no means but my cummins is pathetic right now. Does anyone know what could be wrong?
Are you feeling all your shifts? I had a similar issue with my old auto after a rebuild. Tranny shop had not adjusted the linkage properly. Second place I took it after the first clown insisted it was my engine had it fixed in about 15 minutes.
TV cable out of adjustment. If it's not kicking down out of OD when you floor it, it's too loose. This is also affecting your throttle valve, not giving you full line pressure, which is part of the reason it's slow off the line. The other part is that it's a stock 12v with a stock slushbox turning the wheels. Or something else is bad internally, but I'm giving the trans builder the benefit of the doubt at this juncture.
there is a small black box right next to the mount, you can Press ( real hard with a falt head ) and pull the cable out as far as it will adjust .. that will be full cable and no slack ... then loosen up as needed ..
