AFC boost reference line
I was out messing around checking on things since adding my last group of parts and found a hole had previously been warn in the tube. Initially I figured it was just wearing and was not through as the truck runs fine. The line was initially under the oil dipstick tube and after getting it out and clear I see it is completely through. I am starting to think this may be creating a lack of fuel at times as the boost reference is supposed to be what is telling the AFC to move and then deliver more fuel. This could have been like this from the time I bought the truck and why the existing mods have not delivered what I expected. If there is a lack of boost reference, will the pump even see the fuel plate or will the AFC hold it back? I am going to try and replace the line or get a repair tube from my buddy's shop. I can't believe I didn't see this before
if there is no signal the afc will not move and the gov arm will not hit the plate. If there is a leak you may not be getting full travel out of the afc which would hold back performance depending on how big the leak is.
To give you a reference the tube is worn enough that looking down on it you can see the full cross section of the ID of the line. If it was not poring rain here I would be out patching it now.
