Default getting cruise working

Thanks to all so far with help putting my '96/Cummins on the road...KDP fix, all new brakes/lines, oil pan re-seal, rocker cover gaskets etc., etc. Took the truck camping last weekend (11' ShadowCruiser camper, 2000 lbs), everything worked great. Finally bled brakes with a Mityvac to get a decent pedal. Would like to get cruise working. I wasn't getting any continuity through clock spring, so I bypassed it and mounted the switches on the dash. If I can get it working I may pick up a new spring and put switches back in the wheel. From here, what's the next logical set of steps to diagnose the problem? Green light in switch comes on, but that's it....
Thanks,
Seann

It could be a vacuum line that has come apart. If your truck is 4wd, see if it works. If that doesn't work then a vacuum line is the problem.

Got cruise working, here's what I did if anyone else needs a "free fix". I had no continuity through the clockspring ($200 up here), so I removed it, and mounted the switch panel to the dash. You have to cut the wires off the steering wheel side and splice them onto the input wires so you can insert the pins into the switch plug. I cleaned the switches while it was apart and removed the airbag components as well. Next time dash is out, I'll remove the airbag warning bulb. Also tightened up vacuum line leak. Works like a dream.
