So the A/C in my 97 is blowing out of the defrost vents instead of the vents on the dash. This seems to be aa common problem with the 2 dodges ive owned. The other was a 99 1500....anyway does anybody no whats wrong with it and how much it would cost to fix it? It seems like it would be something simply. Thanks for your help guys!

 

Vaccum door is dis connected or actuatior is toast .. middle of dash on right side

 

Ok thanks. I forgot to mention sometimes it will start blowing out of the dash vents. But hasent done it in about a month. Does this narrow it down between the 2? thanks

 

As long as your brakes are working good .. then I would start with the Vaccum system, either un der the hood on passengers side and then under dash .. dont replace the actuator until you have added just a tiny bit of air tool oil and then try working it back and forth .. should free it up unless you find something else in the mix
