I know the feeling .. My Buddies LS3 trans am , cant hang light to light with ma' dodge ..LOL

4.10's are great off the line .. just need to work on the trans, it does shift a little too slow .. have a new VB , just need to get it installed someday soon !!

Sorry guys I have been away. I have read some good things on the turbo and spoke with a few people running it that seem very happy. For the cost if I don't like it I can sell it or go external gate. I am not hearing any issues on getting it to spool so I shall hope for the best at this point. I am not really planning to go above 500hp any time soon . As for the bolts yes they are bolts from Mighty Diesel and again for the price and what I have been reading they are great security. I am really not looking to make crazy boost, just add a little security.

Bolts are only security if you plan on being well below the 500 mark .. around 3-350 and under 35 psi, thats safe ...

If you intend on going 40+ psi, and past the 350-400 mark your going to want studs for "Safe" opperation ...

I too was doing the same things ... have a leaking HG to show that there not as "Safe" as i was told .. but thats my experience ..

Hope yours is better than mine ..

Indeed. In the world of "better safe than sorry", the only time you're "safe" without studs is when the pump is stock. Once you leave stock settings, all bets are off.

Exactly .. I got ARP 2000's on E-bay for 417 $ ... thats Security at its finest ..

I will give it a shot and live a little dangerous. If worst comes to worst I will go studs with a new gasket.

And You'll need to re-machin the head, change oil if it goes into the pan, possibly destroying your bearings .. ( Glycol will eat bearings ... in case you didnt know that ) .. could score the crank shaft, if that happens, you will need to have block line honed, re-size the rods, might as well hone cylinders too ....

YA see where this is a dangerous idea from the Begining ??

You posted here wanting "Sound" advise .... I saying .... Your Either going to eat an engine and waste your money on the process, Or Get smart and realize, That I and manny others have been there and done that and dont want to see another guy have to go through the $4-5K that we have had to spend due to our not listning to those who have been there as Well..

Seroiusly, If you waste your money on bolts... Expect that you will have the same experience that manny of us are in and have had ..

Here is a few pics (Series 60 ) ... Just a small amount of Carnage, this all due to a leaky Oil Cooler ... This can easily be YOUR Crankshaft .... Any Idea how much one of those costs ????

If you decide to go bolts.. stay off the boost till you get studs ..... your playing roulette with your wallet ...

I assure you I have done my research this was not a quick oh whatever choice. Having said that, if I do that much damage if the hg goes I will buy another truck cheap and go from there with that motor in this truck. The nice part about Canada is that there are many trucks that salt has claimed the body on that have great motors.

We have the opposite problem... finding nice clean trucks with bad motors to put our engines in!

LOL... well Guess that Canada Money is worth more up there then down here .. LOL

I would love to be able to find more 12V's ... these Gas trucks are a decent retro fit , But damn , its a bunch of work and wiring ..
