That sounds like how mine is...the plate allows for rack travel, has the AFC been modded on yours compared to his? Has the preboost screw on the AFC on yours been fiddled with at all and his hasn't? It seems like we are comparing apples to apples. Does his accelerate any differently?

The real problem is wanting your truck to smoke, clean diesel power is the way to go for a street driven truck.
