Yea im not dumb i know that its not in addition to the stock hp and torque. i just didnt realize that fuel plates would make that big of a difference.

And i dont have 1200 bucks just laying around to throw at a brand new south bend dual disk. But i guess if thats what i need then thats what I'll get. I would rather get a used one and rebuild it.

The point of the south bend with flywheel is the diameter. Going from 12 1/4" to a 13" addresses some of the disc issues found when used in higher power and torque applications. You could just buy a 13" flywheel but you'd have to address the input shaft issue when ordering your clutch. It'd probably be just as easy to order it as the kit. If your question is to keep the 12 1/4 instead of using a conversion, there's no way even in Stock application I'd use the 12 1/4. The hubs just seem to fail over and over. Hopefully this addresses the question you had. This is just from my experiences between the two clutches. Do you need a dual disc? Power wise no. But if you abuse it and/or add power later the single likely won't take as much abuse. The con ofe style clutch will be more pleasant to drive but the new dual disc clutches aren't too bad manners wise.

Do you like your vehicles to be reliable?

I think if i do anything else it'll just be maybe a mild turbo upgrade and some water meth for towing purposes

Then go ahead and look at a dual disc and keep the mods to a minimum. Maybe a set of 90 horse 5x10 or 11 injectors, 100 plate, 30 gsk, and a 62/65 and leave it alone after that!

Wasn't saying you were stupid. That's just the way I read it sorry! If ur truck is running, leave it as is and save the money for a dual disc. If you don't want to spend the money buy a singe disc and be limited to what you can do with the truck. How about this, make up ur mind on what you want to do with your truck in the long run and make the call ur self. We gave u our opinion. It's your money bro.

Single disc-$800 ?
Dual disc-$1200?
Installation-$400? Unless you do it ur self
Single disc goes bad then replace with dual disc-$2000 + installation unless u do it ur self.
To me the dual disc drive better and are worth the extra $400 and you have the capability to grow. To me it's like installing head studs. Spend a little for a lot of insurance.
