A built 5 or 6 speed is an excellent choice...but choosing a good twin plate clutch may be the harder question South-Bend or Volaire will work for your year. Find a good transmission place near you and have them do the swap as they will warrantee it as well as already have the knowledge for the swap and the tweaks you may need to have a solid solution.

And relax I think the guy was just fun'in ya....geez.
