Yes that fan could of hurt something, the fans draw an enormous amount of power, depending on what gauge of wired you used you could of over heated and melted something, follow your wire and go into the fuse box and open it to check if you melted anything, Those electric fans have a huge amount of draw to them, a small 12 inch with size 16 gauge WILL melt within 5 minutes of use.

Are the fans on a relay? or wired direct??

Fans are wired to a hayden relay controller
