Default 24v long block in a 12v truck

sorry if this has been answered before, but i dont know much about cummins. looking at buying a 96ish cummins thats super cheap because the engine has a lot of blowby. my buddy has a 24v block and head he'll sell me for pretty cheap, if i put the 24v long block in the truck would everything from the 12v bolt right up? tranny, intake/exhaust manifolds, injection pump, etc.?

no not everything ... the head is different along with the timing cover you will need to change the front cover to the one you have on your 96 and get a new set of injection lines for the new head along with a new tappet cover the p pump won't fit without it. The exhaust manifold is dfferent from a 24v to the 12v tranny will bolt right up tho assuming you have the correct adapter.
