okay so I just baught a 1998 12 valve, I believe it was a 1998.5 24 valve and somebody switched it over.the none of the gauges work except fuel and volt's. When I baught it the batteries wouldn't stay charged and the volt gauge would go to zero, so we put one on a guy had and it stay a little charged, going down the road for about 30 miles then just lost all volt's, so I braught it home and put a new alternator on it then it stayed a little charged then done the same thing. any ideas? thanks,

 

 

possibly pcm prob, crank sensor prob.

 

does the tc lockup and does it go into overdrive. if not those added with the gauge cluster issues and the none charger is as millboyzdiesel said either a faulty crank sensor or a dead pcm.

 

Are All the grounds and battery connections good?
