Default HELP, Might buy 98 12valve that used to be a V8

Found a truck for sale that is a 98 dodge 2500 5speed (nv4500). it has 140k on the truck. the truck was a gas job but the owner bought an engine from his buddy dodge that rotted out and he switched fom gas engine and put in the 12V.

My concern is there is a lot to do to convert and do it right, pumps, batterys, fuel lines, dash board and rpm gauges etc... The truck has a lot of good work that has been done to it which I like, Fuel plate, timing, etc.

What does everyone think about this engine swap? what should I look for?????

12valve swaps are really popular,
With a 12valve swap there's not alot to swap because there isn't alot of electronics with a 12valve.
I would ask him if he took care of the killer dowel pin when he did the swap.
Other than that sounds like a neat swap.

Check for leaks that are going to be a pain and time consuming to fix like front gear housing and rear main. Check for blow by. One downfall is the lighter running gear of the gasser but like said above it is a popular swap and I wouldnt worry too much about it.

The truck was originally a 2500 gas job. so it has the 8 lug axles and 2500 frame and already had the nv4500. Has 4:10 posi gears. Has transfercase leak, powersteering leak, and timing cover leak. need an alternator and a few odds and ends

Timing cover leak, i would check to see if the the kdp pin fell out and caused the timing cover leak.
