Hey, Thanks guys. I think I am going with a straight pipe with a 4x6inch 18"L All MBRP. If down the line I get tired of it I'll trow a muff on. I hear my 12v more than I hear my exhaust any how... even with my poor boy straight pipe it goes down the high way nice and smooth. I can't wait to get this 4" on and roll by some little rice burners! see how they like 4 ta 6" ha ha!! Thanks for all the input

Chad I would highly recommend the MBRP 4in straight exhaust I put one on my 95 eclb and have just been tickled with it, my EGT's even dropped over a hundred degrees just from goin from stock 3in to the 4in you will definatley see and hear a BIG difference with it. it mounted right up the only things is not alot of clearance at the firewall and leave the very rear hanger on so you can reuse it or else you will have to fabricate one. but overall you will be very happy with it I think I know I am

On that rear hanger, XDP says I need to buy this for 96-98 12V MBRP Rear Frame Hanger HG6100

Its $35 extra bucks. its the hanger for the tail peace. they say with out it I will have to fab something up, or pipe will hang on the axle. has any one els had to buy this or does the truck have a stock one that will work? I know its only 35 but if I could save it that would be cool?

I used one of those cheap universal hangars from autozone that slips under the ubolt on an exhaut clamp. I bent the upper slotted metal piece of the hangar at a 90* and drilled a hole in the rear spring shackle and ran a bolt through it, works good.

They still run around $25 but im sure you could find something a little cheaper. I had one laying around so i used it.

Did you clamp your hole exhaust or weld it? I will be welding every thing but the place where I can put in a clamp on muffler if I want to at some point. I dont know I may be makinga big deal out of this hanger just 35 bucks seems like a lot for what the darn thing is. I figure I might as well buy it and once I have it in hand and see it I can ither use it or figure something els out. Just want it to go smooth once I have everything get the old one off and the new one on asap

Mine is all clamped but I am going to weld it up after i change my down pipe to hx40 style for the new charger I am going to be getting. I would have to crawl under mine again to see where the seems lay at under the truck because I think there is some stuff in the way to run a good bead all the way around. Plus it can be a pain fishing all of that pipe out if you have to without a lift. I dont mind clamping stuff if its not visable from the side of the truck but hate seeing a bunch of clamps hanging unter the frame rail.

Ricet07, Yeah it's a pain to weld it my buddy and I welded his up took a little time fitting them marking them then pulling them out to weld. But went pretty good but that was a Dmax, I just plan on welding everything but were the muffler goes so if I get one latter down the road I wont have to cut. So will see how easy it is on a cummins Ill Make a day of it.

JBearSVT, What year is your truck? on the XDP website when you click on the exhaust at the bottom of the page its shows in red that this is required for 94 to 97 12V MBRP Rear Frame Hanger HG6100

I dont know the answer myself I just figure I need to buy it at the same time so if I do need it I got and it wont delay install. if I dont Ill send it right back. I have been trying to find out more info in install but there is not much. But the hanger is for the tail peace that goes over the axle. The guy I talked to at XDP said with out it it will just hang and hit your axle. But like I said I dont know how true that it. Im trying to find out

You said above that it was 94-98, mine is a 98. If it's actually 94-97 though, that might explain it.

Yeah as I have been trying to reseach this hanger diffrent websites have it listed 94-97 and some have to 94-98. It looks to be just any 12V so I know 98 has the 12 and or the 24V ither way there is no install pdf on the web about this hanger. But no use in making a big deal out of 35 bucks. I get it and see were the heck it goes or not use it send it back.
