Turbo-Back Exhaust System?

Hey guys, So I am in the market to get a 4" Exhaust. I would like to hear from you on what you recommend. Looking at the MBRP with the Muffler for 304$ and then looking at the straigt pipe 276$ its not much of a price gap just would like to know pro's and cons about each. I know the straigt pipe will have more noise. what one would yall go with? Got a 12V with cold air its my daily driver.

Thanks.:tu:

were are you finding a turbo back mbrp system for 300 bucks? every one ive looked at is like 600 or more. it all really depends on your state inspection laws. the straight pipe is ultimate flow. my state requires a muffler so i cut the face off mine gutted it and welded it back up :tu:

MBRP 4" Performance Series Turbo-Back Exhaust System S6100P

I live in Oregon and where I live I do not have to do a (DEQ) inspection check on my truck. But I have cut out muffler with a add in straigt pipe and its load but its not a 4" just stock. will a 4" turbo back sound cleaner or still be really load. I would like to tone down a bit thats why I am looking at a 4" with a muff. or does it really matter? will I loose power with a muff or will it stay about the same as a 4" straigt pipe?

you will lose a lot of "bark" and have a much deeper tone. which i like alot better

is that with the Straigt pipe? or with the muffler. :tu:

Most exhaust systems have straight through mufflers, so there should really be no difference in performance. The only difference should be sound.

Iv never heard a 12v with a 4" with a muff if yall have does it sound good or does a straight pipe sound better? I am kinda being picky, I have a poor boy straight pipe now and it just has a lot of crack to it but then clears out and sounds good. Most my noise come from the engine of the ol 12v. just not sure what to get. :tu:

I vote muffler. The drone can really get to you on long trips.

Like HRD said they are a flow through muffler so not much difference at all. When i got my truck it had a MBRP 4" turbo back with MBRP muffler, great sound and not unreasonably loud. I took the muffler out a couple months after buying it and straight piped it and there really wasnt that big of a difference at all until I threw a 7" tip on it and it made it a little rowdy. So conculsion is you will not notice a big enough difference between the two for it to matter. Definatly gut that stock pipe out of there though. Good Luck!!

I have this system, I can't recommend it enough. I bought it straight piped, had snow plow clients complain about the noise and added the MBRP muffler later. IMO, it sounds better with the muffler, and strangely enough seems to pull better too.
