I too just upgraded to a 5" exhaust system and I have an exhaust brake for the factory exhaust system if interested I would be glad to give it away ..... gonna want a 5" pac brake if I'm gonna do it again ..
Would love to get a real "jake Brake" ... as in on the head its self.... seen one for the new trucks ... wonder what it would take to het one on these 12V's ?????

So you know there is a difference between jake brakes and exhaust brakes jakes take away power right before tdc it pops the exhaust valves and exhaust brakes use backpressure instead of wasting all the energy like jake brakes that popping noise is the compression from the cylinders they just waste all that energy. But if you tow alot and are on grades and traveling on passes they are nice to have.

A completly new head hahaha!!! and alot of money. the nice thing about jakes though is that they are easy to rebuild.

pacbrake and bd diesel make exhaust brakes. I believe they aren't aplication specific so they'll work on a 12 valve. nobody makes an engine brake for a 12v. Pacbrake makes one for the 6.7 cummins but that's it

the kits are between automatics and manuals (difference being a trans controller)
